The highly entertaining game was marred by some interesting decisions by the officials which led to a couple of the visitors goals.

A minutes silence was held before the game in respect of former Willenhall Town striker Brendan Pugh, who died this week aged just 39.

United’s first goal came after Shawbury had put the ball out for a Willenhall throw in, the ref instead awarding a free kick, which was deflected into the net.
United’s second goal was even more bizarre, after the ball was played up field to a Shawbury player yards on his own and off side, the linesman waved play on, and a superb save by Booth at the strikers feet was deemed a penalty ! Obviously embarrassed by the cock up, the ref only booked Booth, rather then send him, which would have been the case if it had been a real foul, given it was a goal scoring opportunity.

The first half best goal came from a 30 yard low drive by Dorgan which gave Guernsey’s international keeper, Nick Ashley no chance.

The second half saw the Reds dominate the play, and it looked like they would get something out of the game, but totally against the play, United scored two great goals without the officials’ assistance.
The third goal was squeezed in from an acute angle, while their fourth was a volley.
The fifth goal stood, despite appeals by the Reds for the off side, and the sixth was deflected by Hesson for an own goal.

Morgan grabbed a second for the Reds but it was too little too late.

Lockmen line up; Steve Booth, Tom Rann, Jack Pottinger, Simon Laidley, Tom Clews, Matt Dorgan, Scott Harris, Paul Holden, Jake Morgan, Eddy Wilson, Tony Clift.
Bench Kieron Hesson, Luke Draisley, Lee Smith, Matt Whitehouse.
