AFTER NEARLY FOUR DECADES - WILLENHALL TOWN FC IS ON THE MOVE!
PRESS RELEASE
STARTS
Important news regarding the future of Willenhall Town Football Club.
This season is drawing to a close and we can now advise that following meetings and negotiations we will be leaving our home ground of Noose Lane at the end of the 2012-13 season. This was formally agreed last night with our new landlord and we can confirm that we have signed a lease for Season 2013-14.
We wish to emphasise that we were once again kindly offered a lease renewal by our current landlords Sporting Khalsa, however, after careful consideration and naturally much soul searching the decision to leave Noose Lane became more viable. We have made this decision in consultation with the Board and with Neil Perks, our Manager and listening to views of our supporters. We are delighted that Aspray24 will continue to be our Pitch Sponsor at our new home.
Our new home with effect from next season is Long Lane Park, Long Lane, Essington.
The forthcoming season will be a new start for the Club and our aspiration to continue to play football and keep our name alive has succeeded over the current and previous couple of seasons against massive odds. We are all now a part in writing the next chapter in the Clubs story. History is now exactly that and we will very much be focusing on the future.
Leaving Noose Lane, for the final time after our game against Bromyard on the 7th May will be a night of mixed emotions for many, especially those who have been around for a long time. Willenhall Town FC moved from playing in Willenhall Memorial Park to the current Noose Lane site in 1975 and have remained there ever since. Our move into Long Lane Park will be exciting and herald a new era for the Club.
We would like to take this opportunity to sincerely thank all players, management and volunteers that have seen us through this season. We always appreciate your work and commitment and dedication.
We would be really pleased if you could make our last home game at Noose Lane as memorable as possible, so please encourage everyone you know to come and watch and support the Club and have a great night. We will be promoting the event over the coming week. It would be great to fill the Aspray24 Arena at our last ever home game in Noose Lane. Kick off is at 7.45pm on Tuesday 7th May 2013.
